Introducing ‘TAG at a Glance’

I’m delighted to share TAG at a Glance, the first of the resources that I’ll be gradually adding to this website.

It’s a summary of all the current elements of the DfT’s Transport Analysis Guidance, universally known in the business as TAG. I’ve included not just the TAG units themselves but all the accompanying guidance, databooks, worksheets and so on.

For all of these, TAG at a Glance gives the date of the current version, and a link to where to find it on the DfT website. I’ve added brief comments on what’s new in this version, and highlighted any forthcoming changes that have been announced.

At the time of writing (30 May), several forthcoming changes are due to be turned into ‘live’ updates very soon . These will affect five units, both databooks, the Active Mode Appraisal Toolkit (AMAT) and several of the worksheets. You’ll see these highlighted in the list. [Update, 12 June: these have now gone live and I have updated the relevant entries.]

TAG at a Glance came from my own need to stay up to date with the guidance, easily check any forthcoming changes in particular areas, and be a reference guide when updating previous work. Having put it together, I might as well share it.

I’ll try to keep it up to date, but for anything vital, do check DfT’s TAG webpages to confirm the latest position and the full content of the guidance.

Let me know what you think – especially if it turns out to be useful for you.
